Bainton, Roland H. – Here I Stand: A Life of Martin Luther (302pgs) (had to read with a dictionary on hand and learn a lot of catholic terms and just general new terms. It was slow and somewhat confusing for me at parts, this book is not a really easy read, but very interesting and great at understanding Luther and his thought. A lot of interesting relations with others explained.)
Becker, Nils Witmer – Fireseeds from Korea to the World: Focusing on God’s Miraculous Work in Korea (249pgs.) (interesting, not well written, and the author says some strange things not a great book)
Bonhoeffer, Dietrich – Life Together: The Classic Exploration of Faith in Community (ok)
Dostoevsky, Fydor – The Brothers Karamazov, translated by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky (776pgs) (Slow and hard to push through at points but overall worth it, it is a really good novel with a ton of spiritual themes)
Edwards, Jonathan – Memoirs of Jonathan Edwards (G)
Ferguson, Sinclair B. – The Christian Life: A Doctrinal Introduction (G) (201pgs) (I learned a lot of new things from this book, it wasn’t the easiest thing I have read but that is fine, it helps to read harder than normal books. I think there was some difficulty because of my small vocabulary and Ferguson’s large vocabulary. This is a great book for those in many stages of the Christian life to read. It was not dry but practical.)
Ferguson, Sinclair B. – Read any Good Books (G) (26pgs) (Good booklet about why Christians should read and use literature, and gives a short list of good books to read)
Gladwell, Malcolm – The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference (G)
Johnson, Phillip E. – Darwin On Trail (G)
Mahaney, C.J. – Living The Cross Centered Life: Keeping the Gospel the Main Thing (156pgs) (G) – one of the best books I have read definitely a new favorite of mine, really helps you to see the power of the cross in eternity and everyday living. I would highly recommended it to Christians in every stage of their walk with the Lord.
McDowell, Josh – More Than A Carpenter (G)
Mohler, Albert – From Boy to Man: The Marks of Manhood (G)
Mohler, Albert – Preaching: The Centrality of Scripture (G)
Murray, John J. – Behind A Frowning Providence (29pgs.) (Very short but helpful in understanding what the Bible teaches on suffering)
Nettles, Tom J., and Russell D. Moore – Why I Am A Baptist (G)
Packer, J.I. – Knowing God (279 pgs.) (G)
Piper, John – God is the Gospel (G)(an amazing book)
Poythress, Vern S. – The Church as a Family: Why Male Leadership in the Family Requires Male Leadership in the Church as Well (G)
Sibbes, Richard – The Bruised Reed (G)
Steer, Malcolm – A Christians’s Evangelistic Pocket Guide to Islam (76pgs) (G) (Very brief but helpful introduction into what Muslims believe and how to interact with them and share the Gospel with them, concise and helpful)
